Boy, do we collect photos... In fact, thousands of
'em!
The East Tennessee & Southwest Virginia Digital
Archives now includes over 50,000 digital images
of historical and genealogical photos and documents.
The collection includes scanned images of people,
families, farms, homes, Bible records, tombstones,
wills, marriages, vital stats, ledgers, diaries, books,
and lots of other historical and genealogical memorabilia.
Finding
a photograph of your ancestor
E-mail
us to see if we have any photos of your ancestor.
Be sure to include your full name, your U.S. postal
address, your e-mail address, your ancestor's name,
and how he or she is related to you. Although our
entire collection is not completely indexed to date,
we will be happy to search through the portions that
are already indexed.
Submitting
your photographs
Many people
across the US have shared pictures with us over the
years. You may submit digital photos via e-mail,
or bring them by the Sullivan County Archives. Normally,
we can scan your photos while you wait. We will assign
a 5-digit number to your photograph, along with your
name and contact information. This will allow others
who are researching the same information to contact
you in the future.
